Useful Photoshop Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows


A Graphic Designer cannot work without Photoshop. Image editing, slicing and resizing everything needs Photoshop. So I think that Photoshop is one of the essential tools for a Graphic Designer.
When talking about working in fast and efficient way, a Graphic Designer needs some keyboard shortcuts to help him in this regard. I personally as a graphic designer don't love that much the mouse usage again and again. That is why I suggest every designer to learn the shortcuts of Photoshop.

These shortcuts need to be learned for every designer. So the work will be much easier.

Basic Shortcuts:

To start a New File = Ctrl + N
Opening an existing File = Ctrl + O
To close the opened window = Ctrl + W
Undo = Ctrl + Z
Redo = Ctrl + Y
Zoom In = Ctrl ++
Zoom Out = Ctrl - -
Fit to Screen =  Ctrl + 0
Reverting Image = F12
Save As = Shift + Ctrl + S
Save for Web and Devices = Alt + Shift + Ctrl + S
Select All = Ctrl + A
Show Ruler = Ctrl + R
Move Tool = V

Tricky Shortcuts:

To watch the file preferences = Ctrl +K
Hide and Show the Tool panels = TAB
Shifting to next opened window = Shift + TAB
Cycling Screen Modes = F (repeatedly) 
Undo multiple times = Ctrl + Alt + Z 

Picture Editing Shortcuts:

Bringing the Hand tool = H
Text Tool = T 
Paint bucket = G
Crop Tool = C 
Brush Tool = B
Increase and Decrease brush = [   ] (one bracket at a time) 
Brush Softness increase = shift + ]
Brush Softness decrease = shift + [
Changing the Brightness curve = Ctrl + M
Reset Foreground/Background color into Black and White = D
Opening Fill windows = Shift + Backspace
Liquify / Filter = Shift + Ctrl + X
 

Layers Management: 

New Layer(with dialogue box) = Ctrl + Shift + N
New Layer(Without Dialogue Box) = Ctrl + Shift + Alt + N
 Duplicate Layer = Ctrl + Alt + J
Filling the Layer foreground Color = Alt + Delete
Filling the layer Background Color = Shift + Delete 
Image Size = Alt + Ctrl + I
To repeat Previous accomplishes filter = Ctrl +F
Grouping the Selected layers = Ctrl + G
You can easily change Your layer or brush opacity by just pressing number keys – 1 = 10%, 2 = 20%, 3 = 30% etc.
And Finally these commands can be seen by = Ctrl + Alt + Shift + K
