Web design and Graphic Design, Both are tricky fields. They need a lot of attention. Poor
design can simply ruin your career. Your website would not rank good and as a
result you will lose everything.

mistakes.
Content is
most important than the design. Your poor content will not attract the visitors
also it would not attract the search engines. If you are making site relevant
to Graphic design, try to keep the things according to it. Do not put extra and
useless content. Try to write totally
unique content. The copies content get no value. It can be ban by search
engines any time.
Deciding good
title of the site is base of every site. The title that is not visible to
search engines will be useless. So try to keep the title optimized.
Links should
not underline. Only use underline on hover. Also strikethrough on links is a ridiculous
choice for showing the links or visited links.
One most
important thing is that your site should be compatible with every browser. Such
as Firefox, Chrome, Ie and Opera. People sometimes make this mistake that they
work in Firefox and do not check for the compatibility. Hence the look of the
site in other browser gets totally spoil.
All designers
should keep in minds that do not use too many colours or too many animations. It
will create a mess and site will not be considering a good site.
Sometimes it
happens to us that we open a site and see that we need to install a certain
plug-in. This is quite irritating. Just like we irritate, other people will be
also. So keep the things available to user without any installation.
Page breaks
are an excellent choice. Too much long content or scroll down will irritate
user.
Poor
navigations are very common. Make the things easy to find. Do not create mess.
Ask yourself that is it easy to find the old content?
Text should be
readable. Choose color scheme in a way that it does not hide the text.
Do not violate
the design limits. Search and read on Google before you start.
Even if you are a freelancer, doing a job or running your own web design Company you are required to keep these things in mind.
